      Chalking

      • Chalk adverts for the events onto the pavement in the approach to the venue, and on pavements nearby.
      • Include arrows pointing the way to the event.
      • Use a chalk spray, making a template of the mission week logo.
      • Do check if you need permission to do this first, and obtain it.

      Installation

The CU in Zurich advertised their talk about freedom by ‘imprisoning’ a student in the middle of campus. This quirky idea turned heads and got people talking!

      Fancy Dress

Fancy dress can be an effective way of getting people to stop and take notice of something.

One CU had someone dressed up as an astronaut as their ‘mascot’ for the week — it certainly got people talking.
Another CU had members dress up as a Death to advertise their talk on ‘What happens after death?’
The CU in Oulu, Finland were not allowed to hand out flyers, they were told that they had to wait for people to come and ask for them. So they came up with a creative idea to get people to take them. They stapled sweets to each flyer and then got a CU member to dress up as an elephant and dance to music in the main foyer with a sign inviting people to get free sweets!
